1. Purpose of CrewFinder

CrewFinder is an online platform designed to help sailors, skippers and crew members discover potential sailing connections and make initial contact with one another. CrewFinder provides the platform for making those connections; it does not itself arrange, supervise or guarantee any sailing partnership, voyage, crew position or other arrangement between users.

2. Independent decisions and suitability

Each user is responsible for deciding whether another user is suitable for any proposed sailing partnership or other arrangement. Information supplied in user profiles is provided by users themselves and should not be treated as an independent guarantee of a person's experience, qualifications, character, suitability or conduct unless CrewFinder expressly identifies particular information as verified. Users should make their own enquiries and satisfy themselves that any proposed arrangement is appropriate before proceeding.

3. No guarantee of compatibility or success

CrewFinder does not guarantee that users introduced through the platform will be compatible, that a proposed partnership will be successful, or that either party will be satisfied with the resulting arrangement. Differences in experience, expectations, communication, availability, sailing ability or other circumstances may arise. CrewFinder is not responsible for the success, failure, continuation or termination of a partnership or arrangement formed independently between users, except where responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

4. Responsibility for arrangements

Any decision to contact, meet, sail with or otherwise enter into an arrangement with another user is made by the individuals concerned. CrewFinder is not a party to agreements or arrangements made between users and does not accept responsibility for the actions, omissions, representations or conduct of users in connection with arrangements made independently between them. Users should exercise appropriate judgement and take reasonable precautions before meeting or sailing with someone they have encountered through CrewFinder.

5. Sailing safety

CrewFinder does not replace the responsibility of users to make appropriate safety assessments or to comply with applicable sailing regulations, club requirements, maritime law, insurance requirements or other relevant rules. Users remain responsible for determining whether they, their equipment and any proposed crew or skipper are appropriately prepared and suitable for the intended activity.

6. Dating and romantic use

CrewFinder is not a dating, matchmaking or romantic networking service. The platform is intended solely for genuine sailing-related connections. Users must not use CrewFinder primarily to seek romantic or sexual relationships, or use a sailing-related connection as a pretext for unwanted romantic or sexual interaction. Unwanted advances, harassment, inappropriate messages or other conduct inconsistent with the purpose of the platform may result in content or accounts being restricted or removed.

7. User conduct and information

Users must provide information that is accurate and not knowingly misleading. Users must not use CrewFinder to harass, intimidate, threaten, deceive or otherwise cause harm to another user. CrewFinder may remove content or restrict, suspend or terminate access where it reasonably considers that these Terms have been breached or that action is necessary to protect users or the integrity of the platform, subject to applicable law.

8. Verification

Where CrewFinder provides verification features, verification indicates only that the relevant information or requirement has been checked in accordance with the applicable CrewFinder verification process. Verification is not a guarantee of a user's character, competence, suitability or future conduct and should not be interpreted as such.

9. Responsibility and legal rights

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CrewFinder is not responsible for losses, disputes, dissatisfaction, incompatibility, failed partnerships or other consequences arising from arrangements entered into independently between users. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability or legal right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10. Acceptance

You understand that CrewFinder's role is to facilitate sailing-related connections and that the suitability and success of any resulting partnership is ultimately a matter for the individuals involved.
